Cook County Bridge Inspection

WBK is currently acting as the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) Program Manager in accordance with FHWA policy for the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways, Palatine Township Road District, and Hanover Township Road District.

The certified NBIS Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all of the county’s bridge inspections, bridge inspection reports, and inventory documentation.

Tasks performed under these work orders include, but are not limited to:

• Perform Routine, Element, and Special bridge inspections

• Review/sign off on all inspection related documents

• Monitor and prepare inspection schedules for the county’s ±105 structures

•Conduct inter-agency coordination

• Remain on-call for emergencies that may arise for any given structure

• Perform load ratings as needed
