Cultural Arena

The Cultural Arena serves as a powerful gathering place for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, designed to honor their heritage and foster connection through tradition, ceremony, and community celebration. At the heart of the project is a 16-sided, open-air structure inspired by the cultural geometry of the tribe.

This pre-engineered metal building shelters a circular dance arena—approximately 13,700 square feet—purpose-built for traditional dances and communal events. Four grandstands encircle the arena, providing fixed seating for nearly 2,000 attendees and reinforcing the inclusive spirit of the space.

Cultural expression is embedded throughout the design. A two-story masonry and steel-framed structure within the arena supports audiovisual and security functions, allowing for seamless event production.

Surrounding the superstructure are symbols representing each of the tribe’s 12 clans—carefully integrated through direct collaboration with tribal leaders and cultural consultants. Every color, form, and material was chosen in partnership with the Poarch Band to reflect their identity and deepen the cultural experience.

The arena is more than a venue—it is a living testament to tradition, resilience, and the enduring spirit of the Poarch Creek people.
