RiverEdge Park Blues Island and Music Garden is an 11.3-acre, master-planned park designed by the Aurora Park Collaborative. WBK provided environmental engineering, landscape architecture, permitting services and construction management for the RiverEdge Project.

Very rarely has there been an artist who hasn’t said to me afterwards how beautiful this place is. - Jim Jarvis, VP of Programming, Aurora Civic Center Authority

The Music Garden consists of an outdoor theatre featuring world-class amenities such as sound and lighting instruments, a mix tower, concessions facilities, and site utilities.

Additionally, native landscaping, shoreline and island restoration, 1,700 feet of multi-use trails, 40,500-square feet of permeable paver plaza, and 81,800-square feet of concrete plazas and walks form a collection of amenities for both active and passive recreation opportunities.

The park opened to the public in June of 2013 and has become a popular entertainment destination, attracting tens of thousands of patrons from the region.

The American Public Works Association Chicago Metro Chapter and Fox Valley Branch have awarded this Project of the Year, Structures $5M, but less than $25M, City of Aurora.

The project also earned the 2014 Public Works Project Excellence Award from the Chicago Metro Chapter.
